Pascal Tepper French Bakery, is another name that those from Dubai, or who work in Dubai will probably already be familiar with – so this is another name that I was really excited to see open in Abu Dhabi on January 13th of this year. Personally, I don’t think you can beat a decent sandwich on freshly baked bread or a lovely, buttery, warm croissant but sadly, until now, these things have been sadly lacking in Abu Dhabi. Those who agree with me will also be excited to know that at last, thanks to Pascal Tepper, you can finally get a decent croissant in the city, and a lot more too.

So what’s it all about then, who is this Pascal Tepper? Pascal is one of five generations of French master bakers in the family, so it’s fair to say they’ve had plenty of practice and know what they’re doing! Coming from Lille, in Northern France, Pascal was awarded the prestigious ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ award in 2000, a lifetime achievement award given only to those considered the very best in their field and presented exclusively by the President of France.

Pascal Tepper French bakery offers not only a yummy bakery, but is also a large café and dining area as well. The interior is fresh and modern looking, and is set up to be very family friendly with high chairs for kids, a baby change room and home-made healthy options for kids on offer – real food for a change, not the all too often frozen convenience foods.

And following in the footsteps of the Dubai branch, there will soon be a family friendly Friday brunch complete with kids baking class coming soon, so watch out for that.

All of the bakery products are made using imported ingredients from France, to ensure the quality is the same here in the UAE as it would be fresh, in France and baking takes place every day, throughout the day.

Of course you can get just about everything you can imagine and would expect, fresh breads, pastries, macarons, cakes, quiches and tarts to eat in and take-away…

And of course there is a breakfast menu and then the all day dining menu with a large selection of all things fresh and tasty – sandwiches, salads, soups, meats, quiches, croque monsieur to name just a few selections…

Aside from priding themselves on fresh, quality food, they also have ‘iced tea jays’ which are a concept unique to them. The ingredients sit at the top of the tea pot and the water is poured through and held. After a few minutes brewing time the top is twisted and the water and flavours release into the iced water below. It all sounds a bit of a novelty and whilst it is interesting to watch, I can also say that although I’ve never been much of a fan of iced tea, these were some of the most tasty and refreshing Iced teas I’ve ever come across! I can definitely recommend the ‘team spirit’ flavour which is organic green tea and white tea with lemongrass, ginger and hibiscus.
