Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi - a weekend in review
With being so busy and not having time for a holiday at the moment, we had decided it was time for a bit of a break, and after enjoying the surroundings so much at breakfast at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi 'Beach House' restaurant the weekend before, we decided to spoil ourselves and book into the hotel for the following weekend as a valentine's day treat.

Arriving early on Friday morning to enjoy the facilities for the full day, we felt welcomed from the start. Our room wasn't ready as we had arrived so early, but we were shown to the spa so we could store our things, change and prepare ourselves for a hard day relaxing on the beach.
The hotel is just beautiful, right from the moment you arrive at the front gates. The landscaped grounds are so picturesque and the feel of the area so elegant and calming that it's easy to forget you are only a short drive from the city. The interior of the hotel is decorated with a modern but classic and stylish feel, everything feels well thought out - perfectly and thoughtfully placed for comfort and maximum impact. And then you get to the beach... This has got to be one of the contenders for the best beach in Abu Dhabi surely?! The long stretch of white sand, nothing but the view of the oh so blue Arabian Gulf stretching out in front of you as far as the eye can see... It really is just stunning, and as you can probably see from the colour of the skin on my legs in one of the photos that follows, I am not naturally what you might refer to as 'a beach person'.
Relaxing on the beach at the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi.
We were lucky enough to get a sea view king room that was separate from the main hotel building and right on the beach front. The room was very spacious and the stylish and elegant feel of the hotel continued throughout the room. Being on ground level, it boasted a large private patio or courtyard with day bed and small table and chair set. There was even a gate that led directly on to the beach meaning we could bypass the main pathways of the hotel and slip on to the beach in complete privacy if we so chose.

We found the hotel staff to be helpful and attentive, ready to assist with anything we needed but without ever overstepping the mark and becoming intrusive. If you can manage to drag yourself away from that gorgeous beach, there are several pools to choose from - a kids pool, adults only heated pool and various other decorative and smaller hot tub pools around the grounds. Even the spa has its own private pool for spa visitors. There's a kids club for those with little ones to keep amused and even if you're dining at the hotel and not staying the night you can still make use of this facility to give yourself a moment to relax. We found the food throughout the hotel, including on the room service menu to be of excellent, consistent quality and standard and any requests we had for tweaks or substitutions were met with ease. A bit like some sort of fabled fantasy land, everyone we spoke to seemed happy and only too willing to help us out, even if our requests didn't fall within their own area of responsibility. There's not much else I can say - the surroundings alone easily make this one of my favourite locations in Abu Dhabi and coupled with such great service, the Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi is definitely a place I will be returning to!
