Lebanese Flower, Abu Dhabi
Everyone loves a bit of Lebanese food, and everyone has their favourite so after having frequented one particular restaurant since we've lived in Abu Dhabi, I decided it was time I finally wrote about our local one - Lebanese Flower.
Lebanese Flower is a bit of an institution here in Abu Dhabi with several locations all over the city so I'm certainly not alone in it being one of my regular go-tos for Lebanese food.
It's one of those places that we take everyone who comes to visit us from overseas for that 'authentic' experience. It's also a great place to go as it's casual and easy as well as family friendly which is great as when you have guests staying you don't always want to go out places you need to get dressed up or to have to cook at home.
The food is fresh and tasty and really great value. It's hard not to get carried away and order too much as there's so much good stuff to choose from! We nearly always end up with heaps of food!
One of the most simple parts of the meal but it has to also be one my the highlights is the fresh bread - or 'puffy bread' as we like to call it. Delivered to your table hot out of the oven, all puffed up and air-filled it smells and tastes amazing. I love to fill mine with shawarma or shish tawouk, and dip the rest in garlic paste. I'm a bit of a garlic paste fiend I have to admit - I love the stuff!
There's heaps I love to order but one of my all time favourites is the cheese manakish... cheesy fresh bread - what's not to like about that?! Yum.
Falafel and chicken shawarma are also some of the classic crowd pleasers, and veggie lovers are always impressed by the moutable.
Another classic for me is the halloumi. What can I say? I LOVE cheese! It's best eaten as soon as it's served when it's still hot and gooey - the texture and salty taste are just not to be missed.
So there you have it, that's a quick insight into what we love to order at Lebanese Flower although of course there's heaps more choice on the menu! We tend to be creatures of habit when it comes to ordering, but regardless, you can always be sure that the food is fresh, tasty and will almost certainly leave you looking forward to coming back next time!
What do you think? Is there an item on the menu that you'd recommend I try next time? I'd love to hear about it in the comments below.
