Friday Brunch: Jazz Pizza Express Abu Dhabi
It's no secret that I'm a bit of a fan of pizza, so I was keen when I heard that Jazz Pizza Express was coming to Abu Dhabi and opening at the World Trade Centre Mall. What I like most about Pizza Express is that it's that sort of in-between restaurant - it's not takeaway (though I'm sure you can if you live close enough!), and it's not high-end dining, it's the sort of place that's just down to earth casual dining with good food. And what else do you need?! Oh yeah - a cheeky tipple would be nice too, right? Well, hurrah for us - it's also licensed, so we went along to check out their new Friday brunch! :)
It's a nice looking restaurant, (I LOVE their blue floor tiles as you walk in) and they seem to be a pretty happy bunch who work there...
And of course, it's not called 'Jazz Pizza Express' for nothing... as well as pizza aplenty, there's live music too!
So once you've grabbed yourself a beverage of your choice, it's down to business. The brunch menu is provided on the table and you are able to choose from there, with it all being served straight to your table. You can have a bit of everything, or just the bits you prefer, and of course in true brunch style you can keep asking them to bring as much as you like until you can eat no more!
As much as I love my pizza, it's not all about the pizza as there's a good range of other dishes to pick from. You've got your starters (everyone loves a dough ball with garlic butter, no?), your salads, your pastas and of course, the pizzas too. And, the menu changes every week so there'll always be something different to try!
And, for those who think of pizza as being big doughy, oily slices of diet busting doom, if you're not already familiar with the Pizza Express style, you'll be pleased to know that the pizza is thin crust, delicate slices of yumminess.
Oh, and of course there's dessert to look forward to as well, in the form of a trio of mini desserts so you get a nice variety! I really liked the fact that they were small, so I got a sweet taste but I didn't feel any 'dessert shame' afterwards. It is worth noting though, for those with a sweet tooth that as with the rest of the brunch, you can keep on ordering them until you've had your fill!
I really enjoyed the Jazz Pizza Express brunch, it was good to do something a little different for a change. The food was good, the music and live band was a nice touch and it's pretty good value too at Dhs129 for the package including soft drinks or Dhs229 for the package including alcohol.
